Demi turned around and looked at Hailduke, "Y-You're probably right.." she lowered her head and crossed her arms, "I'll just let daddy know that you don't want to do this.." she turned around and headed out of the kitchen. ooc: We'll just skip the dinner part~ Btw I was thinking that Hailduke should probably have some olders brothers or something It would make sense as to why he won't be ruling his father's kingdom.

ooc: Coolio.
Hailduke sighed and walked out of the kitchen too. He took about 10 seconds to work out where he'd gone last time, and then remembered. He walked out to the balcony overlooking Demi's families gardens. It was still dark and misty. But the sky strangely was clear. Stars everywhere. Hailduke stepped up and put his hands on the wooden fence and watched them. It was almost like he though if he stared at them hard enough, they'd start to spell out exactly what he was supposed to do. He let out a third sigh and looked to the moon. He was struggling.. his brothers wouldn't have had any second thoughts like this. Then again, they were way more ambitious.

Demi stayed with the adults, marveling at the conversations her father started but then felt a serious topic coming up and got a stare from both her parents. She sighed and left the room they were in and stepped out to her backyard. She walked down the huge tree that reached up higher then the sky and sat on the swing that was attached to it.

Hailduke stared at Demi from the balcony. He wondered whether or not he'd made a mistake. Perhaps he was being selfish. Demi also had little choice in these matters. Being a prince, he should have honour.. and this was not an honourable way to act.
He turned away from the balcony and walked down through the castle. Hailduke walked down the stairs and marched right through the room the parent's were in. He didn't stop to acknowledge them. He walked out into the garden and stood in front of Demi on the swing, looking at the ground.

Demi looked at Hailduke and furrowed her brows, "I haven't told them yet..so if you're hear to bug me about not wanting to go through with it then it's going to have to wait."

"Y'know Demi.. I reckon I've seen more frowns on yer face than anything else since the minute I met you. And I reckon that's more my fault than it is yours." He scratched his head. His hair was thick and messy. His shirt was half wet, and crumpled. He looked a bit of a state.
"See th' thing is.." Hailduke sighed. Swallowed his pride
"I've thought.. if you want to.. I'd like to make a go of this. I know I ain't the most charming of people. And I realise I have a lot of things about me you don't like and.. well.. your parents must hate me! But.." Hailduke turned away from her and folded his arms.
"And don't take this the wrong way and get all girly or anything.." He said frowning. "But.. you aren't a half bad person. Actually.. I think you're alright. You got some fire in you. So.. If you still want to mould me into your possible King.. then I guess I'd say that's okay.."

Demi quickly jumped up from the swing and clapped her hands together. "Really?" her voice went up an octave. Suddenly she jumped on Hailduke and wrapped her arms around him and spoke very quickly from excitement, "You aren't half bad either! Thank you so much for going through with it! Trust me, I can really help you out and get you prepared!" she said in one breath.

Hailduke nodded "Yeah, yeah.. just try and make sure I stay alive will ya?" He smirked.

Demi let go of him, "Just brutally injured should be more like it" she smirked.
"Little prince, your parents call for you. They are taking their leave." The maid called from the screened door.
Demi looked at Hailduke, "Great, we'll start tomorrow! I'll go over to your place!"

"You know, I can believe that brutally injured statement..!" Hailduke smirked back.
"Right.. well.. I'll see ya tomorrow princess Demi.." Hailduke said with a mock bow.

Demi smiled at his attempted bow but critiqued in her head what was wrong with it. She sighed inwardly thinking of how much she would have to teach him. She curtsied, just to be polite and watched as he left the garden.

Hailduke smiled at her curtsy and headed home.
During the trip back on the horses, Sai looked to his son. "Well.. where did you go after dinner?"
"I was... in the garden" Hailduke said passively.
"By yourself?" Rose added with a stifled grin.
"No actually ma'em.. I was with Demi the Princess" He said with surprising ease.
"Oh.." King Sai said quietly. "Ahem.. well you two seem to have has a good first meeting.." He added with glee at the idea that this union was going to be a good idea after all.
Hailduke gave his dad a look that said 'im sick of questions'. He pulled the reigns of his horse, Cynet, and galloped ahead. He stayed ahead until they got home.

Demi walked back inside and found her parents in the den, talking amongst themselves. Demi smiled and crawled into her mother's lap.
"Oof, Demetria..You're not 5 anymore. You're getting to big to sit on my lap." Rhea exclaimed. Demi hugged her mother and smiled, "I just wanted a goodnight hug." she slid off her mother's lap and walked over to her father.
"Good night father" she said, giving her father a hug as well. Crius cleared his throat, "Good night" was all he said. He didn't put his arms around Demi and only waited for her to release him.
Demi let go of her father and then skipped out of the den.

Hailduke slept well that night. Not because of the many different outdoor pursuits he usually filled his days with. He was a different kind of tired today. He'd been nervous. Nervous because of the Princess he ran into. Nervous because of what was to come. Nervous because he wasn't sure if he was good enough. And that scared him...
The night passed fast... and day invaded the sky...

Demi woke up early that morning, which was very unusual for her. She peeked out through her curtains but made she wasn't near the sun. She looked into the mirror and combed out her hair. She smiled, excited for her lesson plans she had for Hailduke.
There was a knock on the door. "Come in" she chimed.
Her mother opened the door and looked at Demi, "Now where are you going this early? The sun is beaming right now."
Demi turned to her mother and smiled, "I'm going to Prince Hailduke's"
